Ranking Model
Start with OVR because rating unlocks Cup Mode, then adjust for position scarcity. A strong ST is valuable, but a weak back line can block the 93 threshold. Next, check chemistry and completion routes. The best card for one account may be a bad use of rerolls for another account if the team path is different.
Special cards deserve a separate band. Premium Captains are valuable because they anchor a squad at 99 OVR after a focused completion path. Cup Players sit even higher as 105+ rewards, but they require the account to win cups first.
| Tier | Card profile | Use case |
|---|---|---|
| S | 105+ Cup Players or cards that carry a weak Cup-ready XI. | Use as long-term anchors after tournament progress. |
| A | 99 OVR captains and high cards that fit key formation links. | Build around them when they support the team path. |
| B | Strong positional upgrades that fix the lowest squad lane. | Spend rerolls here before luxury upgrades. |
| C | Decent OVR cards with poor links or redundant positions. | Keep only until a targeted replacement appears. |
| D | Cards that do not fit formation, chemistry, or completion needs. | Replace once the board has enough attempts saved. |
Avoid Bad Tier Lists
A bad list ranks by name recognition alone. Build A Soccer Squad is a board problem, so two accounts can value the same pull differently. A player who completes a captain path or fixes the final low slot can beat a more famous card that has nowhere useful to go.
Another weak signal is a tier list with no update date. The current Roblox description includes Cup Player nerf notes and a next update. A list made before those changes can be directionally useful, but it should not be treated as current without checking the live page.
For a real account, the best tier list is a short decision log. Write down the slot you upgraded, the OVR change, whether chemistry improved, and whether the squad moved closer to 93 OVR, a captain route, or Cup consistency. After a few sessions, that log beats a screenshot-only ranking because it shows which pulls actually changed progress.
